Took an elderly friend and fan we both enjoyed the show enormously. Thoroughly recommend to anyone.

A superb musical celebrating David Essex's amazing musical talents and put together so brilliantly in a truly moving story. Andrew Lloyd Webber could not have done better! Life in the fairground is brought to the audience with clever use of props including dodgem cars and carousel horses. David Essex performed superbly as did the rest of the cast. All had wonderful voices and brilliant acting too. Christopher Timothy I think will surprise everyone with his fine singing talents. Very well done all, especially the theatre staff. I am in a wheelchair, I went to the matinee showing on Wednesday July 7th and they were so kind and helpful. I felt like royalty. Thanks too to David Essex for coming out to sign autographs and have his photo taken with his fans. I know he had another performance that evening but I really appreciated the time he gave us. Once again the show was brilliant very well done all, have a great summer and see you in York David. Love to all

My Husband & I went to the Garrick on the Bank Holiday Saturday. It was great . A lovely fresh musical. David's music was as ever hot and It was good to hear new music as well and sing along with the recognised ones. We sat in the Dress Circle and were right in the middle and had a great view. I would go again. The young stars that played the lovers and the boy who had been taken under Levi's wing were very accomplished. I do not consider that a live band could have made it any better and as for David being too laid back well if that is laid back bring it on.

I really enjoyed this show,its fun and full of some great songs! Its a lovely cast which works well together. The set works and lighting works well and the flying bike WOW, amazed the audience as it few across the front row seats! Nice feel good show!

Saw this on 20 April. First night of previews and was already so good. Does differ a bit from touring production that was around in 2009. Think I'd have given that a 5* Will go again.
