A stylish production
Who can't resist an Agatha Christie production. Always guarenteed a good evening of entertainment with a twisty turny whodunnit. Christie is a well loved author and her stories are so well known. So it takes some bravery to adapt her signature mysteries to the author. Ken Ludwig has managed to deliver with his adaptation of Death on the Nile. A great cast, beautiful costumes and atmospheric sets was a lovely evening of entertainment. Great acting without falling into the trap hamming it up. Keeping mostly faithful to the storyline with some new add scenes kept the audience.entertained and intrigued. A great show.
1st night Death on the Nile
1st night so some difficulties with stumbling over lines. Good verbal performances from ‘Jacqueline and Linnet’, although required the emotions to show in body language. Poirot needed to be more charismatic and commanding. Simon’s character - required more depth. The other characters gave good performances. Stage setting was excellent and good use of characters changing sets, I liked that some were dressed as staff. We booked dinner and theatre, - Excellent restaurant in the Lyric. Seats - Circle E22 + E23, good views. Hopefully first night nerves vanish and the cast have a great run.
