Gender-fluid drag artist Sasha Velour rose to international attention as the winner of RuPaul's Drag Race season 9. Possessing more than charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, the Californian queen spun the very idea of drag on its head with multi-media infused performances, jaw-dropping looks, and stunning lip-sync performances. Taking the art form to its highest heights, the high octane drag, visual art, and magic of first solo show finally wings its way to the UK during the hotly anticipated Smoke and Mirrors Tour.
Featuring the music of Whitney Houston, Shirley Bassey, Judy Garland, Celine Dion and Nina Simone, amongst others, the one-queen tour de force is built around 13 spectacular lip-synching performances. Conjuring stage magic with dazzling costume transformations, Velour transforms into a tree, explodes into rose petals and vanishes in a puff in smoke in front of your very eyes, simultaneously exploring themes of gender, fame, family and the importance of following your dreams.
